Sheraton Park South, Fredericksburg Wedding

We went to Richmond to photograph a December wedding in the middle of the Northeastern Blizzard of 09. We left for Richmond on Friday before the storm hit full force, so we would be there the next day for the wedding. All that snow did not phase the bride and groom, who, due to the weather, had to reschedule their reception from the Science Museum of Virginia to the Sheraton Park South Hotel. The Museum was closed due to heavy snow. Luckily, Jordan's aunt, who was also their wedding coordinator, worked out the alternate details, and the hotel, very graciously offered one of their ballrooms for Vanesa and Jordan's reception, The manager at the Sheraton even sent their snowplow driver over to the church to plow the church parking lot before the ceremony! Jordan and Vanesa took it all in stride and kept their sense of humor, with every change in plans during their special day. The whole wedding party was cooperative and flexible, even when the bride asked them to trudge out in 6" of snow for photos! A couple of the groomsmen went out first and cleared a path, using only thier feet, to the hotel's gazebo. Wayne and I, and the rest of the wedding party followed, some in high heeled, open-toed shoes and no jackets! It was well worth the effort--the images outside in the snow look amazing! It was a beautiful cermony and a fun reception from start to finish.
